The WESST Enterprise Center in Santa Fe is part of a nationwide network of Women’s Business Centers (WBCs) funded in part by the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Office of Women’s Business Ownership (OWBO). The WBC program was founded to foster the growth of woman-owned businesses by providing access to education, training, mentoring, business development and financing opportunities to women throughout the United States and its territories.

WESST’s regional office in Santa Fe serves emerging and existing small business owners (men and women) in nine counties in North Central and Northeast New Mexico including Colfax, Guadalupe, Harding, Los Alamos, Mora, Quay, Rio Arriba, Santa Fe and Taos counties.

We work with businesses in all market sectors including service, technology, retail, manufacturing, and wholesale sectors — in any phase of development. Our clients include start-ups, established entrepreneurs, expanding businesses, and non-profit arts and education organizations. Roughly 50% of our client base is involved in the arts. We focus on making the business development process user-friendly and profitable once people decide to get serious and make the transition from skilled hobbyist to professional artist.

Whatever the type of your business — be it an arts and crafts sole proprietorship, a professional service, a restaurant or retail store, or a construction, manufacturing or high-tech business — we’re here to provide guidance through all aspects of planning, operating and growing a successful business. Visit our Client Success Stories page to read about some of the entrepreneurs in our service area who have benefited from our small business assistance programs.

WESST’s experienced staff of business, marketing, and finance professionals is augmented by attorneys, accountants, sales and marketing professionals, and business owners in the community who share their expertise with WESST clients on a volunteer basis. An advisory committee helps identify and address specific business development needs.
