Stocker Foundation awards grant to support WESST’s distance learning program in Doña Ana County

WESST is honored to be the recipient of a grant of $20,000 from The Stocker Foundation, an independent foundation that provides funding to organizations working in the following areas: short-term youth development; social service agencies offering solutions to specific problems, such as literacy, hunger, and homelessness; education; aid to the disabled; self-help programs; theater and the performing arts, and other cultural programs; women’s issues and the strengthening of families. These funds are earmarked specifically to foster entrepreneurship and economic empowerment for residents of Doña Ana County. WESST received the grant monies after satisfying the requirements set forth by The Stocker Foundation. The funds will be used to deliver learning courses to benefit Doña Ana County participants.

WESST (www.wesst.org) is a non-profit economic development organization with offices in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Gallup, Rio Rancho, Roswell and Las Cruces. The organization provides training, consulting and loans to entrepreneurs across New Mexico as well as business incubation services to members of the WESST Enterprise Center in Albuquerque.
