WESST PRESS RELEASES

Update on the WESST Enterprise Center

With less than two months until occupancy, the Enterprise Center is shaping up beautifully. The exterior is finished with paving completed and landscaping taking place. The addition of small trees and shrubs has really established the site as a complete project. On the inside, the finishing touches are in progress making the overall effect one of reality rather than a projected idea. Years of hard work, fundraising and constant management of the project are paying off and the 37,000 square foot Enterprise Center will soon become a functioning participant of economic development in New Mexico.

In recent weeks, WESST has been continuously working to identify prospective young and promising growth companies interested in the incubation program, recruiting Strategic Partner companies willing to assist entrepreneurs, creating relationships with New Mexico angel and venture capital investors, and presenting the business incubation model to thousands of community leaders. What remains is to put the incubation process into practice, continuing WESST’s mission of supporting business growth with the exciting new technology and enhanced surroundings that the facility provides.

A special credit should go to WESST’s Executive Director Agnes Noonan for her foresight and perseverance in the creation of what will become a showcase for New Mexico business incubation. In addition, we wish to recognize the success of both the Santa Fe business incubator and the San Juan College incubator as examples of well-run incubators paving the way for the creation of our new facility.

WESST will schedule a grand opening of the Enterprise Center in the first quarter of 2009. Stay tuned for more updates as the Enterprise Center makes its debut!
