WESST Enterprise Center Starts Construction on Digital Media Studio

That will change when the WESST Enterprise Center opens its digital media studio this summer. Construction has begun on the 1,000-square-foot studio, thanks to a grant from Comcast, and support from the federal Economic Development Administration, the state, city and private supporters of WESST. Comcast is contributing $200,000 for capital improvements and equipment and $200,000 for in-kind use of its airwaves, said Doug Lee, Managing Director of the WESST Enterprise Center business incubator in downtown Albuquerque.

14th Annual Women’s History Brunch to Be Held In Roswell

The 14th annual Women’s History Month celebration brunch, sponsored by WESST, will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Roswell Museum and Art Center. The achievements of women throughout the generations will be recognized, with a special tribute to three local women: Kaarin Jager, Barbara Corn-Patterson and Andrea Hill-Smith.

Albuquerque Business First announces BizTech Innovation Awards honorees

WESST Lands $10,000 Bank of the West Philanthropy Award

WESST was recently recognized as a finalist in the Bank of the West’s “Community Impact Award,” and received a $10,000 grant. The Community Impact Award recognizes a nonprofit organization “inspired by a Bank of the West customer with a strong track record of philanthropic activity and measurable record of accomplishments.”

MRCOG study: WESST has created 1,159 jobs

The Mid-Region Council of Governments has released an independent study detailing WESST’s economic impact in New Mexico. In addition, the study credits WESST with helping grow small businesses with $87 million in consumer spending, $93 million in personal income and $128 million in gross domestic product.
