WESST Albuquerque TrainingWomen Who Own it, Covid-19 Stories of Resilience
This 90-minute session is aimed at bringing together women entrepreneurs to share their stories, strategies, and transformational wisdom during the pandemic. Three women business owners will talk about their entrepreneurship journey, how they have adapted to the continuously changing tides, and share lessons learned.
*Between 2007 and 2018 in the United States, the number of women-owned firms grew by 58%. During this same timeframe, businesses owned by women of color grew much more quickly and reached a 163% increase. As of 2018 reporting, 47% of all women-owned businesses are owned by women of color and these women employ more than 2.2 million people.
Today, companies led by women entrepreneurs clearly have a strong foothold. Although this is great news, much of this growth is due to economic necessity.
WESST knows that women, especially women of color, remain underrepresented among the ranks of entrepreneurs. One of the best actions to take to overcome barriers associated with underrepresentation is to network with other women business owners. The Women Who Own It Speaker Series offers an opportunity to be part of women entrepreneur-only discussion.
