Bilingual Loan Assistant–Albuquerque, NM
Job Description
WESST has been serving entrepreneurs in New Mexico for over 30 years and is made up of a team of passionate service-minded individuals who find fulfillment in helping others. We are currently seeking a full-time or part-time Bilingual Loan Assistant to support our Loan Program in New Mexico. We target our Loan Program to women, people of color, and low-wealth New Mexicans. The Loan Assistant will have the opportunity to learn from and work closely with our Loan Operations Officer and Vice President of Lending. As an entry-level position, ideal candidates will be currently in college or recently graduated, with an ultimate goal of working in finance, business administration, or related fields. Candidates must be fully bilingual in English and Spanish. Strong data management and computer skills are required for the position. Position Description
The Bilingual Loan Assistant will oversee and manage the technical and administrative processes of the WESST Loan Portfolio and support the daily operation of the loan program.
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Loan Program Administration – 65%
Provide loan services to clients by handling the collection of loan information, preparing documents, and completing administrative tasks to ensure proper loan information recording and management.
- Reporting – 25%
Monitoring and maintaining the accuracy and completeness of loan portfolio activities in the data systems utilized by WESST and reporting to program funders and grant providers.
- Loan Client Support – 10%
Work closely with the Loan Operations Officer and VP of Lending to meet with and guide applicants on their small business needs as they relate to capital access, pre and post-loan technical assistance, etc.
Necessary Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated ability to review and manage data
- Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills in English and Spanish
- Organizational skills to facilitate multi-tasking: tracking and driving many reports in different stages, creating process improvements for the future, ensuring that the portfolio is being maintained, etc.
- Able to read write and speak English and Spanish
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, CRM Software, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse team members and skill sets.
- Handle confidential information and communications in a professional manner.
- Managing information flow and exchange between departments and clients promptly and accurately.
- Demonstrated skill as an independent self-starter and successful team member.
