  • Fair;

  • Legal; and

We do not share names, addresses, emails, phone numbers, or other identifying personal information about registered visitors with any other company or organization for any reason.

Scope of this Policy
The Website Privacy Policy applies to information collected from visitors, clients, and donors through wesst.org. It does not govern information collected from WESST employees, which is covered under WESST’s internal Privacy, Confidentiality, and Cybersecurity policies.

Types of Information

“Personal Information” is any information that could be used to identify an individual. It does not include personal information that is encoded or anonymized, or publicly available information that has not been combined with non-public information.

“Sensitive Personal Information” is any information that meets the “personal information” criteria that also:

A) reveals race, ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, or geolocation; or
B) concerns health, social security information, or information on criminal or administrative proceedings other than in the context of pending legal proceedings.

All data that becomes available to WESST, whether “Personal Information” or “Sensitive Personal Information,” through any of the means described in the following paragraphs may be able to be associated with that identifier and therefore become your data.

Collection of Data

Subject to the qualifications immediately below, WESST undertakes to collect your data from you and not from third parties. This undertaking is qualified as follows:

  • Where WESST reasonably considers that the protection of its financial interests requires that it gathers your data from other sources, or from additional sources. This applies where WESST has a lending exposure to you and seeks information about your creditworthiness.

  • Where WESST reasonably considers that its capability to deliver quality services to you will be materially enhanced by gathering your data from other sources. This applies to company profile data.

Where WESST collects your data from sources other than you, it undertakes:

  • To do so only by legal means;

  • To do so only with your consent, when required; and

  • To declare to you, when required, what sources it uses, and under what circumstances.

WESST limits requests for information to that which is minimally necessary and required by law, or which you have authorized.

If you visit WESST’s website, your web browser automatically discloses, and WESST’s web server automatically logs, the following information:

  • Date and time

  • IP address from which you issued the request

  • Type of browser and operating system you are using

  • URL of any page that referred you to the page

  • URL you requested, and whether your request was successful

This data may or may not be sufficient to identify you.

Any additional data that your web-browser automatically provides may also be logged. This will be the case, for example, if your browser has previously been requested to store data on your computer in ‘cookies’ and submits them each time you request a webpage within a particular domain (such as wesst.org). This data may or may not be sufficient to identify you.

Wesst.org offers the option to communicate with us via the “Contact” link and several submittable forms. All WESST clients who provide an email address and select “Yes! Send me email updates from WESST” on the intake form will be subscribed to the email mailing list.

If you subscribe to the e-newsletter or other mailing list, you can also unsubscribe at any time. Wesst.org holds our mailing list in confidence, and we do not share our mailing list with anyone for any reason. For online transactions, we require an email address for communicating with you.

Any additional data that you provide, e.g., in a web form, may also be logged. This data may or may not be sufficient to identify you.

This includes payment systems such as: United Way, Stripe, and Square. This data may or may not be sufficient to identify you.

WESST offers the option to be contacted by representatives through SMS messages and texting capabilities. We collect your phone number only when it has been voluntarily provided by you through form submission or additional communication methods. Phone numbers are used to communicate appointment reminders, scheduling, service updates, and other supportive steps using non-sensitive data. This service can be opted out at any time during the service. This data may or may not be sufficient to identify you.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
