Albuquerque, NM | November 23, 2008 –

Having outlined a distance learning program for rural New Mexico to various foundations, WESST is pleased to announce continued commitment to the project by being awarded a grant of $20,000 from The Bank of America Charitable Foundation. The foundation supports building strong, healthy neighborhoods by investing in innovative programs designed to serve local community needs.

“We are very grateful for Bank of America’s support of this important program,” says Agnes Noonan, WESST Executive Director. “Bank of America is very supportive of initiatives that assist in the development of New Mexico’s rural communities.”

The outreach of WESST’s distance learning program will be enhanced by support of this grant and others like it. The goals of supporting communities’ economic and self-sufficient progress are key in the work WESST has been committed for 20 years. In announcing the grant to WESST, the Bank of America Charitable Foundation noted WESST’s ongoing efforts to provide opportunity and to improve quality of life in our communities.
