In case you missed it, we revealed our new logo at our 11th Annual Silver Soiree in October 2025 and have been softly, and intentionally, launching since. In 2025, we were directly impacted by funding shifts and the physical footprint of our organization evolved. Our commitment remains unwavering, as our WESST's mission remains the same, to serve as a home to entrepreneurs. Our refreshed brand signals our continued evolution and commitment to a thriving New Mexico.
WESST is deeply woven into the stories and legacies of New Mexico. Founded in 1989 following the passage of the Women’s Business Ownership Act, WESST was born during a turning point in history—when women could finally start businesses in their own names, without the requirement of a male co-signer. From those roots, what began as a resource for women has grown into a vital statewide organization — still transforming lives, and still championing the entrepreneurs who drive our economy forward.
For over three decades, WESST has provided training, consulting, incubation, and lending to help New Mexicans start and grow businesses. We go beyond traditional services to meet the needs of our communities—from supporting Indigenous entrepreneurs and rural business owners to addressing critical social challenges like the childcare crisis through small business development.
Small businesses are the backbone of New Mexico’s economy and the heartbeat of our communities. At WESST, we believe every New Mexican should have the opportunity to build their dream. When we invest in entrepreneurs, we invest in a more resilient, thriving New Mexico.
