Pedro Gallardo Garcia and Maria Dolores Dominguez-Tenorio are the passionate owners behind Tacos Pita 2, a thriving food truck business. In 2022, they walked into the WESST offices to formally establish their business through the creation of an LLC. 

When Dolores’ family embarked on their culinary adventure, they began selling delicious, traditional Mexican cuisine, but they neglected to properly register their business. Pedro wanted to preserve the family legacy and establish her own business, in the right way, and she began to navigate the complexities of running a successful food operation. With the help of WESST, their food truck business has experienced significant growth over the past two years. 

WESST has been a great asset, increasing our confidence in reaching out to state and federal agencies without feeling overwhelmed. They partnered with a local community resource, signing us up for computer classes and helping us obtain a laptop. WESST has been our one reliable source for growing our business.

In 2024, Roswell faced devastating floods and left families across the city without homes and a sense of security. Tacos Pita 2 lost their catering truck, but they were not without hope: they opened their food truck for free to anyone impacted by the floods. Without limits or restrictions, they provided hot meals to their community. Pedro and Dolores again reached out to WESST for assistance to continue these efforts, and WESST helped them apply for funding with World Central Kitchen (WCK).  

Catching the attention of WCK’s Founder, Chef José Andrés, they were able to continue feeding the Roswell community for several additional weeks. With the continued support of WESST, Tacos Pitas 2 continues to look forward ahead to future growth opportunities, including expanding catering services and potentially opening a brick and mortar location. Pedro and Dolores remain committed to building a business that not only feeds the community but nurtures it.
