Yaneidy has always been passionate about helping others and previously worked as a nurse. As she and her husband began thinking about their next chapter, they noticed a growing need for child care services in the Hobbs area. With their own children now teenagers, they wanted to create something meaningful to serve families. Yaneida was unable to return to nursing full-time after undergoing surgery, and inspired by her sister-in-law, who operates her own child care business, she decided to move forward with opening Ebenezer Childcare.
Her sister-in-law referred Yaneidy to WESST, encouraging her to seek guidance to start a business. While Yaneidy's husband already owns a trucking business, she learned that WESST could help her navigate what would be a new experience for the couple. During her first meeting with WESST, she learned about THE Accelerator child care program and received step-by-step support and guidance to build her business the right way.
She connected with the New Mexico Early Childhood Education and Care Department who helped answer licensing questions, and she recently passed her childcare inspection!
One of the biggest challenges Yaneidy faced was finding an appropriate location for her child care business, where children could have their own dedicated space. With support and guidance from WESST, she ultimately moved into a home that will be able to support her child care operations and future expansion plans.
WESST has been really helpful. Their team has always made time for me, answered my questions, and helped connect me with the right people. They have been there with me the whole time.
