Superior Casting Services (SCS)

Mayte and her husband, Jacinto, worked steadfastly from their garage for two years to create Superior Casting Services (SCS) – a business that proudly provides top quality jewelry castings.  SCS is considered a “go-to” service for casting and creating one-of-a-kind and multi-unit pieces.  Offering expertise learned from 16+ years of hands-on, custom manufacturing in precious and non-precious metals.

WESST first met Mayte Cardenas in November of 2014 at the Santa Fe Business Incubator where WESST is also a tenant. Although Mayte is bilingual, WESST was asked for assistance to translate and explain the Incubator process.  Once Mayte understood the value and potential support of the Incubator team, she signed an initial three month trial basis contract.  Today, in mid-2016, SCS continues to thrive in the Santa Fe Business Incubator.

Immediately after Mayte connected with WESST, she began taking advantage of all business and professional support that was available to her.  She regularly attends workshops, one-on-one consultations and reaches out to other collaborative business entities – many of which are WESST clients she has met over time. SCS was competitive in their craft, but lacked business development skills.  Basically, they had been working without any critical business planning – from EIN numbers to LLC creation, marketing, bookkeeping, web development and more.  With the help of WESST Mayte’s growing understanding of the business development process has helped her self-confidence; she’s a go-getter whose business is growing.
