Susana Salcido State Farm

Susana Salcido is a State Farm agent and small business owner serving Lovington and the surrounding community. Susana first became familiar with WESST around 2017–2018, when she participated in the early market research WESST conducted while exploring their programmatic expansion into Hobbs and Lea County. This gave her an opportunity to learn about WESST and its mission before services were fully established in the area. Susana's early introduction to WESST eventually developed into a long-standing relationship, both as a small business owner and client, and now a community partner.
The biggest challenges Susanna has faced as a business owner have been access to capital and employee retention. She wants to invest and strengthen her agency, and both are necessary for long term growth. WESST has served as a resource for her as her needs have evolved, providing access to financing as well as continued business support. Susanna was the first recipient of WESST’s HOPE Loan, and she now owns the building where her State Farm agency operates.
WESST really helped me get to where I’m at. They’ve been part of the foundation of why my business has been such a success.
Over the years, Susana has worked to establish and grow her agency, focusing on creating a strong and sustainable business, while continuing to serve the community she calls home. She has flourished as a business owner and served as a strong supporter for other local entrepreneurs. Susana's story with WESST has come full circle from receiving critical support for her own business to now helping connect other small business owners with the resources to help them succeed.
