Bubble Dreams Learning Center Environment LLC

Maria Granados’ journey from Gómez Palacio, Durango, Mexico to Chaparral, New Mexico, is a story of resilience, transformation, and deep-rooted purpose. As a single mother, Maria was driven by the need to both be present in her children’s lives and provide for their essential needs. This personal connection led her to open a licensed home-based child care center, but what began as necessity, soon became a calling.

“When the children arrived smiling and didn’t want to leave, and parents thanked me for their happiness, I knew I had found my purpose.” Maria recalls.

Maria learned about WESST through Growing Up New Mexico as part of THE Accelerator 2024 cohort and began working with us soon after. Seeking support through training and consulting, she began working to build a stronger foundation in business operations and financial literacy. She faced significant obstacles in managing the financial side of her business, particularly in preparing tax documents and understanding how to separate her personal and business finances.

WESST stepped in with practical, accessible training that empowered her to organize her business more effectively. “The cash flow workshops ‘Caja de flujo’ have been incredibly helpful,” Maria says. “Now I use these tools regularly. I have gained better control over costs, a clearer view of income and expenses, and I also have improved how I manage inventory.”

With continued guidance and support from WESST Maria is preparing to apply for a loan to own a dedicated child care center, moving beyond her home-based setup. Her long-term dream is to establish a pre-kindergarten, eventually opening two additional centers – all rooted in love, quality care, and a commitment to early learning.

From participant to leader, Maria now facilitates THE Accelerator sessions and leads “proveedoras unidas” a group of emerging child care providers in southern New Mexico. She is helping to build a stronger, more connected early childhood education community supporting other providers in launching and scaling their own childcare businesses with the same spirit of compassion and excellence that defines her work.
