Mrs. Bee's Children's Books, LLC

Updated: Oct 11

Diana Henson resides in the rural area of Dexter, NM, and has managed her farm for many years. She had heard of WESST through a friend and knew they provided business support. Diana had just started thinking about writing children’s books, and she reached out to WESST Roswell in August 2022. She wanted to pursue her love for writing, particularly children’s stories, and incorporate her experience of living on a farm and taking care of animals.

At the time, Diana was also considering a potential rental property, but after consulting with WESST and having them visit the property, she realized the amount of work, money, and time to make it into a business was not the best move to make and dove deep into writing. She faced challenges finding a publisher and even lost her laptop to a flood, losing all her work.  WESST was able to help Diana find a grant to provide a new laptop, accessories, and writing applications.  Her new and improved access to technology allowed her to rewrite her story and promote her business.

Diana has taken advantage of the free consultation and coaching services from WESST Roswell.  WESST has literally met her where she’s at, from her place of business to the local library.  With the additional marketing support from WESST, her first book, Mrs. Bee in the Farm, was published in August 2024 and is now listed on major online retailers.
