Carleen connected with WESST in August 2025 after hearing about our organization. She was in the early stages of starting her business, Reloved Interiors, and looking for guidance on how to get started. She didn’t know where to begin, but she worked WESST to register her LLC with the NM Secretary of State and NM Taxation and Revenue for Gross Receipts Tax. Carleen began to learn and understand the ins and outs of compliance regulations and obtained her Albuquerque Business License.

Carleen initially inquired about a loan, but after working with the team, she realized a loan was not necessary, a success in and of itself, but she still faced the challenges of finding a retail location and then preparing it to be fully operational. Navigating the process of renovations and coordinating with contractors took more resources than anticipated, but working together, WESST supported her through the process by reviewing important documents and helping her feel confident as she prepared to open.

Through hard work and dedication, she found a space and completed all the renovations needed to open in February 2026. She has been working hard on finalizing her website, developing marketing plans, and tracking her finances.

WESST helped build off of my original idea, and now my doors are open! I'm not sure that I would have my business up and running at this time if it weren't for WESST. They helped me throughout the entire process from the business idea to the doors actully opening. They continue to be an ongoing support as I maneuver through my first months of being a business owner.
